7 Days in Tuscany
7 Days in Tuscany: The Ultimate Villa Tramontalba Itinerary
Planning a trip to Italy often involves a difficult choice: do you stay near the historic cities, the rolling vineyards, or the sparkling coast?
At Villa Tramontalba, you don't have to choose.
Located just a few minutes’ walk from the award-winning village of Montescudaio, our villa is the ultimate "hub" for exploring the very best of Tuscany. We’ve designed this seven-day itinerary to show you how easily you can see the icons while still finding time for that essential Mediterranean relaxation.
The Itinerary: A Week of Wonders
Day 1: The Arrival & Village Charm
Settle into the villa and take a short, 3-minute stroll into Montescudaio. Voted one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, it’s the perfect place for your first sunset aperitivo.
Dinner Tip: Enjoy a meal at local favorites like Bardo Vino, SaQua or Andirivieni. The best part? Since it's just a short walk away, nobody needs to be the designated driver!
Day 2: The Renaissance Giants (Florence or Siena)
Choose your adventure! Take a full-day trip to Florence to see the Duomo and the Uffizi, or head to Siena to walk the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo. Both are easily accessible for a deep dive into Italian history.
Day 3: Coastal Bliss at San Vincenzo & Baratti
Swap the hills for the sea. Head to the Etruscan Coast to visit the sandy beaches of San Vincenzo or the stunning, crescent-shaped Gulf of Baratti. Crystal clear water and ancient ruins right on the shoreline make this a day to remember.
Day 4: Leaning Towers & City Walls (Pisa & Lucca)
A classic Tuscan "two-for-one." Start your morning with the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa, then spend a relaxing afternoon cycling along the massive Renaissance walls that encircle the charming city of Lucca.
Day 5: Hilltop Gems (Volterra & San Gimignano)
Explore the alabaster workshops of Volterra before heading to the "Manhattan of the Middle Ages," San Gimignano. Day 6: Adventure or Rest (Cinque Terre or Villa Bliss)
Feeling ambitious? A day trip to the colorful cliffside villages of the Cinque Terre is entirely possible.
Prefer a "slow" day? Go for a relaxing walk through the local Mediterranean scrub and olive groves surrounding the villa, then spend the afternoon by our amazing infinity pool, cocktail in hand, watching the sunset over the horizon.
Day 7: Wine Heaven
Head to the famous Bolgheri wine region - just a short drive away - home to the legendary "Super Tuscans" - have lunch in the village and then take in a wine tasting session at one of the amazing vineyards.
Why Villa Tramontalba is the Perfect Base
Walkability: Unlike many remote villas, you can walk to world-class restaurants and lively bars in Montescudaioin minutes.
The Pool: Our infinity pool isn't just a place to swim; it's a viewpoint offering a 180° spectacular panorama of the Tuscan countryside.
Versatility: From the famous Tuscan destinations like Florence, Sienna and Lucca, to the beautiful landscape of the Cinque Terre, to Bolgheri wine heaven, the sea and the quiet pine forests of Cecina, everything is within easy reach.
“The magic of Villa Tramontalba is that you are close to everything, yet feel a million miles away from the world.”
Enjoy!
